TDC Selects Interra Systems' Baton QC Solution

Cupertino, CA – September 1, 2015

Interra Systems, a leading global provider of software products and solutions for quality control, real-time monitoring and video analysis to the digital media industry, announced today that TDC, Denmark’s principal telecom company, has selected its Baton product as their file-QC solution for Video-on-Demand (VOD) operations.

TDC is the leading provider of communications services in Denmark, the second largest communications provider in Switzerland and holds significant interests in a range of communications companies across Northern and Continental Europe.

Baton, the automated file-based QC solution, will form an integral part of TDC’s VOD operations, ensuring the integrity of video and audio files within TDC’s workflows. This will enable TDC to have the right technological infrastructure to support future multi-platform operating models.

"Baton ensures mezzanine file interoperability and compliance between TDC brands, iTunes TM and NetflixTM - Blockbuster VoD service being a case in point," said Anders Jorgensen of TDC.

TDC group had acquired the Danish rights to the Blockbuster name in 2014, which for almost two decades has been synonymous with film rental, and now offers online VOD services across multiple online platforms via the brand.

"Baton's flexible and scalable architecture makes it a perfect choice for TDC as they continue to expand," said Penny Westlake, Sales Director for Europe, Interra Systems. Our focus on fast development and implementation of new media standards coupled with excellent post-sales support are some of the reasons we are seeing increasing deployment of Baton. "We are delighted that TDC has chosen Baton for their QC needs."

Baton is a multi-platform, enterprise class, automated content verification system for file-based SD, HD, UHD, 4K and mixed workflows. Supporting a wide range of codecs and media containers, Baton ensures quality control of media content before playout. Baton is highly flexible and it can be quickly scaled for large facilities or high volumes of content. As a hardware and O/S independent solution, Baton can easily be integrated within a facility’s existing infrastructure.

Interra will be demonstrating the latest version of Baton at IBC 2015. To schedule a demonstration at IBC, please visit http://www.interrasystems.com/IBC/.
